About

Geriann Fedorowicz, MSW, LICSW

I am an integrative clinician drawing from a myriad of therapy practices, mental health knowledge, life experiences and spiritual frameworks that contribute to my ability to connect with and support people who seek change in their lives and who are looking to explore or renew themselves.

I come from a framework of trauma-informed, relational therapy with a focus on attachment, neurology, somatic practices and mindfulness-based practices. I believe that by gaining insight into who you are and how you work leads to being better able to manage and nurture yourself in everyday life. This exploration can involve understanding how your past experiences influence your present interpretations and beliefs.

You will find that working with me is both a fluid experience of following the client and one of being more directive with concrete ideas for change. I work to create a space that is accepting, sometimes playful, and always based in mutual respect.

Training & Experience

Anchored Relational Therapy.

I am a certified practitioner of Anchored Relational Therapy (formerly AIR Network Therapy). Originally developed for understanding people who have dissociative experiences, complex trauma responses, and developmental trauma, this framework looks at the interconnections of neurology, human development, dignity and competence, resilience and vulnerability. I use these concepts with most of my clients as a way to understand how past experiences, often in childhood, influence their present life. This involves building a relationship with the different parts of yourself and approaching this from a place of dignity, competence, and an understanding of neurology.

Somatic Practitioner.

It is well documented that the body holds many stories and is an avenue for healing and wholeness, if we learn to attune and attend. I am a somatic practitioner, meaning that I invite people to drop into their bodies and listen. In therapy, you can learn to work with the body in a way that has a direct affect on the nervous system.

Mindfulness Focused.

My work is influenced by over 25 years of yoga practice and an interest in Buddhist Psychology. I am trained in MBSR and offer this framework to clients and speaking engagements. There is solid research supporting that mindfulness is an effective tool for cultivating greater life satisfaction and improved mental health. There is a deep well of knowledge here.

Integrative Clinician.

I have knowledge and use a muti-faceted approach in my work. I enjoy learning and experiencing new modalities or theories and seek to integrate this into my work. These approaches include attachment theory, Polyvagal theory, Cognitive-behavior therapy, Internal Family Systems, Ambiguous Loss.
